Bean Bag Positioners

David Scott Company is happy to offer all sizes of our Vac Pac® style surgical bean bag positioners in a gel version as well as a traditional “without gel” version. David Scott Company holds the patent for and manufactures the only Vac Pac ® style surgical bean bag with an integral layer of Blue Diamond® Gel.

With the added layer of gel, patients are protected from the pressure of the firm molded bean bag against their skin. This innovative design features a thin layer of gel that helps prevent pressure-related injuries. Our free float technology allows the gel layer to move independently from the rigid bean bag layer, ensuring optimal comfort.

These positioners utilize vacuum suction to conform the enclosed beads around a patient’s body, creating a firm and stable position. To release the vacuum, simply remove the safety clip and click the one-button valve to let air back in, allowing the bean bag to move freely again. The entire one-click valve system is replaceable if damaged, ensuring longevity and reliability.

A study by the American Journal of Obstetrics & Gynecoloy found that a Vac Pac ® style bean bag positioner results in significantly less displacement during surgery when compared to the Pink Pad®

Our bean bags are made with a urethane bladder (rather than PVC like the comparable Olympic Vac Pac ®), this equates to added durability and longevity.
