Product Description
StopGuard – Go Beyond the Limitation of Safety Belts
StopGuard ™ is a ground-breaking safety device for comprehensive secondary layer of protection during medical procedures. It installs instantly on all railed tables or stretchers offering non-contact protection. With it’s adaptable & unobtrusive design, the StopGuard ™ can be positioned anywhere to effectively prevent falls while out of the way of surgeons and staff. The StopGuard™ also acts as a definitive fall barrier in high-risk positioning, such as Trendelenburg, without concern for nerve compression. Simple to use, cost-effective, and virtually no learning curve.
Patient safety is at the forefront with this secondary safety support system. Designed for planned & unplanned tilt procedures, as well as a stop guard for limb drop.
Current AORN recommendations only address lower leg safety belts, leaving a gap in protection when procedures involve the lower extremities. During trials on an OR table, the product functioned flawlessly and demonstrated incredible strength. “Substantial force was applied to StopGuard ™ in all directions, and it did not budge at all. It will very effectively prevent accidental limb falls, patient falls, and adequate bean bag support”.
Using only the shorter top piece allows for a very low-profile protective guard, which can be quite useful. The ability to use just the shortest piece increases the versatility of the multi-tiered StopGuard™ component system, allowing for one short guard, one regular guard, and the ability to stack them together for an extra-large option.
StopGuard™ aims to fill a void in patient safety, offering unmatched security, ease of use, and peace of mind for both patients and staff.

Thoughts from the inventor, an OR nurse specialist:
- One key aspect of designing these was to ensure they were fast and effective and did not cause an extra burden on the end user (nurses like me, lol). The goal was to ensure they would be used and not thrown in storage due to being ” too much work” or “lost somewhere.” Easy, fast, and at the point of use was the goal.
- The ability to set these up before a patient enters the room, often referred to as “staging or opening a room”. This is where all the equipment needed for the case is placed in the room and is ready for the patient.
- One of the reasons for an increased incidence of falls in the operating room is the advancement of surgical tables. These tables can now be manipulated at greater angles and degrees than ever before, which significantly raises the risk of patients or their limbs falling. This innovative solution embraces the past, present, and the future of procedural tables.
