Toboggan Arm Guards or Sled Style Arm Shields provide a number of benefits to both patient & physician. They are used to prevent a patient’s arm or leg from dropping off the operating table as well as protecting the patient from being leaned on or pinched during surgery. They keep line and tubes out the way and protect the ulnar nerve from pressure. All David Scott Company Arm Guards and Arm Shields are sold as pairs and have an optional gel liner to help prevent pressure related injuries. These are sometimes referred to as arm shields.
Easy to use, simply slide the flat end of the shield under the operating table pad and the patient’s weight keeps it in place

The arm shields are designed to keep a patients arm or leg tucked during surgical procedures. Arm guards or leg guards protect the patients extremity form being pinched as well as dropping off the procedure table. Arm Shields are ideal for MRI use as these keep the patient in position and contain no metal content. The clear Lexan or Plexiglas arm guards are quite durable.
