The VIP Headrest from David Scott Company is a multi-function foam headrest designed by an anesthesiologist to support patient positioning and airway management during procedures. The headrest functions as a complete positioning system with two primary modes: Procedural Mode and Airway Mode. In Procedural Mode, the headrest provides cradle support to stabilize the occiput, help prevent lateral head movement, and distribute pressure evenly. In Airway Mode, the headrest provides elevation and alignment to promote head elevation and neck extension into the “sniff” position. This positioning can support spontaneous ventilation during deep sedation, enhance mask ventilation, and improve the laryngoscopic view during both direct and video laryngoscopy.
